The Brinell indenters consist of a holder, a cap and a ball. The ball may be changed without affecting the assembly’s verification provided the ball conforms to all the requirements of the ISO 6506 and ASTM E10 standards.

Calibration details: This batch of Brinell indenter balls will be taken from a bonded batch of balls which comply to the requirements of DIN EN ISO 6506-2 and ASTM E10 (for this compliance assessment measurement uncertainty was not taken into account) and will be calibrated and certified for diameter, hardness, roughness and density, by UPI Laboratories.

Uncertainty: The reported expanded uncertainty is based on the standard uncertainty of the measurement multiplied by a coverage factor k, such that the coverage propability corresponds to approximately 95%. The standard uncertainty has been determined in accordance with EA 04/2.
Traceability: The measurements are executed using standards for which the traceability to (inter) national standards has been demonstrated towards the RvA.
